We arrived in Mindelo

As I predicted we reached our waypoint between the islands at 8 am UTC, it took a while til we sailed to the harbour though. at 12:40 UTC we stopped the engineat 16°53,2'N and 024°59,9'W on the island Sao Vicente, the middle of the three so called "Northern Islands". Actually there is a fourth one, Santa Luzia, but it is not inhabited. Mindelo is the only city on the Cape Verdes which has a Marina for Yachts. It will be the only time that we will be in a harbour here. The rest of the four weeks we'll always be on anchor and use our Dinghi to drive to the land and beaches.
The first thing we did now is clean the boat. Now we're going to a beach cause I CAN'T WAIT to jump into the water after having surfed it for such a long time. I have waited 4 weeks for this moment.....

One last thing: Marcus and I would LOVE to find some ccomments on our blog entries from time to time. We prefer it over Reply-Emails (for those who receive new entries automatically by E-Mail). It is great to hear something from other parts of the world. Thanks.

    Congrats! You made your way to Mindelo without problems. Super! I read you blogs every evening (english and german) - very interesting also for a non-sailor. And Michaela, your descriptions are great! Enjoy your time now sailing around the Cap Verde Islands - I guess there will be a lot to explore... All the best and greetings from Munich - Germany.

    @ Silvi: absolut. Noch sehr unberührt hier. Mindelo ist ne große Stadt. Abseits davon wie Mallorca vor vielen vielen Jahren, als es noch nicht den Deutschen gehörte. Hier ist es das ganze Jahr über warm, Luft und Wasser!
